The Model Management System in Italy: Reform Prospects

graffio

The model management system in Italy currently lacks a comprehensive regulatory framework, resulting in the widespread use of heterogeneous contractual practices that often fail to ensure full protection for the parties or an adequate contractual balance.

This context makes it appropriate to consider new legal and regulatory instruments: an innovative example in this regard is the Fashion Workers Act enacted in New York (Bill No. 2023-S9832), effective since June 2025, which provides an organized regulatory framework for model management companies, introducing the new Article 36 of the Labor Law and ensuring greater contractual balance.
